Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that LG VK Saxena saved Delhi during the rule of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Comparing LG to a stone of Kedarnath, she said that he was able to protect the temple during the disaster in Delhi. The Chief Minister said that LG did the same in Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inspected the Bhalswa landfill site along with LG VK Saxena, where a bamboo plantation drive was launched in place of the removed garbage mountains.

The Chief Minister said, “The previous government only talked about mountains, but could not even get hold of a rock from the mountain.” Work is being done here with the support of the central government and a target has been set. The material (garbage) removed from this place is being used in several NHAI projects and in leveling the DDA ground, where lakhs of tonnes of material has been used.

The Chief Minister said, ‘We will inspect and visit all the three landfill sites every month. Within a year, we will ensure that the height of the landfill is reduced and green land is developed so that good projects can be started in the coming days. Our mission is to make Delhi clean and beautiful. The Delhi government is working on mission mode.

During this, the Chief Minister praised the LG and said, “Just like when the cloud burst in Kedarnath, there was a rock there, which protected the temple so that the cloud water does not wash away the temple, similarly you did the work of the rock during that government (Aam Aadmi Party government) that this courtyard of Delhi, this temple of Delhi was protected.”

Plants are being planted which provide more oxygen: LG

The LG said that plantation has started at the Bhalswa landfill site, where land was cleared in the last two years. Two thousand bamboo trees have been planted and 54 thousand additional plants have been planted. Bamboo trees have been planted deliberately as they give 30% more oxygen. Our government has started a new initiative to free Delhi from pollution. Bamboo uses less water and grows quickly, it will grow 20-25 feet tall every year. Now green patches will be seen on the roads instead of garbage hills.
