Abhay Singh, often referred to as IIT Baba, who became famous during the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, claimed he was assaulted during a live news show in Noida. The altercation has become a trending topic on social media, with videos of it going viral on a private news channel’s set.

In his police complaint, IIT Baba stated that the ‘saffron clad people’ intruded into the newsroom, misbehaved with him and attacked him with sticks. After the alleged assault, which started a protest in which he demanded immediate action against the culprits, he staged a fresh protest outside Sector 126 police outpost. But he dropped his protest after a talk with the police. IIT Baba ultimately did not file a formal complaint according to Sector 126 Station House Officer (SHO) Bhupendra Singh.

IIT Baba is seen getting into a heated debate when a contingent of sadhus enters the studio to cook on the social media platform X and viral videos. It turns into an argument very quickly, and soon, IIT Baba starts to leave the studio. However, the confrontation’s exact cause is unknown, as neither side has given a full account of what triggered the clash.

The incident has stirred controversy on social media, where some people express support for the episode, while others disapprove of it. Some support IIT Baba and call for his accountability, while others doubt the cause of the clash. No official statement from the police in relation to further investigation in this matter has yet been released.
