On Wednesday, in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, in the Sunderbani region, terrorists opened fire on an Army vehicle.

The incident happened at around 1:00 pm along Sunderbani Malla Road in the woodland region close to Phall village. While patrolling the area, a 9 JAK vehicle was hit by one or two shots. So far, no casualties have been recorded. For the militants, the region is seen as a classic infiltration route.

“At 1300 hours (1 pm), an army vehicle was fired upon at Village Phall near Water Tank, a forest area, on Sunderbani-Malla road close to the LoC,” officials familiar with the matter said.

They claimed that the patrol car, which was owned by nine JAK rifles, was hit by around two bullets. The entire region has been roped off, and more forces have been sent in, officials stated. The army is on high alert, and a search operation has been launched.

There were no other details provided by the defense official, although he did acknowledge that there had been a shooting incident in Sunderbani.

Pakistani intruder shot dead in Punjab

BSF personnel at the international border in Pathankot in Punjab shot and killed a Pakistani intruder early on Wednesday morning, authorities told the media.
