Raipur. There is big news for those interested in golf. SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship 2025 is being organized by Chhattisgarh Tourism in Raipur. Former senior cricketer Kapil Dev will also participate in the championship starting from February 25.
Tata Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and Chhattisgarh Tourism Board today jointly announced the launch of the first SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship presented by Chhattisgarh Tourism. This first PGTI event in Chhattisgarh will carry a prize purse of Rs 1 crore. It will be held from February 25 to 28 at Magnificent Fairway Golf & Lake Resort, Naya Raipur.
SECL is the title partner of this championship to be held from 25 to 28 February. Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is the presenting partner, while Chhattisgarh Herbals, NMDC, NRDA and Purple Goat are the associate sponsors. The event is hosted by Fairway Golf and Lake Resort in Naya Raipur.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao is also very excited about Chhattisgarh Tourism organizing the state’s first professional golf event, the SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship. He said, “I am happy to organize the first professional golf event in Chhattisgarh in collaboration with PGTI. The first Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship will establish the state as an attractive destination for golf.”
He said that this will strengthen the state’s position in the international golf fraternity. In this event, great players from not only India but also from abroad are coming to Chhattisgarh. This will inspire golf players in the state to dream big and aim high.
This championship is in line with Arun Saw’s commitment to develop the sport and create opportunities for local talent so that these players can grow and showcase Chhattisgarh’s potential as an important venue for big sports.
