Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh – A violent clash erupted at an Air Force base in Cox’s Bazar on Monday, resulting in the death of one person, according to reports from local media and official sources. The incident occurred near the Samitipara area, adjacent to the base.

Reports indicate that a group of individuals from the nearby Samitipara initiated an attack on the Air Force base. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the attack, stating that “miscreants” were involved.

The deceased has been identified as Shihab Kabir Nahid, a 25-year-old resident of Samitipara. Medical officials at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital confirmed that Nahid was brought to the hospital deceased, suffering from severe head injuries. An autopsy is to be carried out to ascertain the precise cause of death.

Details surrounding the cause of the conflict remain under investigation. However, some reports indicate that the violence may have stemmed from a prior land dispute, that escalated into a confrontation between local residents and Air force personnel. Some reports also discribe that the incident may have started with a dispute regarding a man on a motor bike, and a helmet.
