Mumbai: It’s been a week since Himesh Reshammiya’s Badmaash and Ravikumar’s Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor starrer Loveyapa hit the screens. It has been told in the reports how these films performed in their first week.
Badass Ravikumar vs. Loveyapa box office collection
According to the website, Loveyapa earned ₹0.3 crore while Badass Ravikumar earned ₹0.26 crore on Thursday, bringing their respective totals to ₹8.11 crore and ₹6.45 crore, respectively, based on preliminary estimates. Although the Himesh-starring picture made more than the Junaid-Khush-starring film did at the time of its release (₹2.75 crore compared to ₹1.15 crore), both films lost steam over the week and made less than ₹1 crore per day. Over the weekend, Loveyapa made ₹1.65 crore and ₹1.75 crore, while Badass Ravikumar made ₹2 crore and ₹1.4 crore. But on Thursday, Loveyapa surpassed Badass Ravikumar in terms of occupancy, with 7.29% compared to 5.70%.
About the films
Loveyapa is produced by Phantom Films, which is headed by Madhu Mantena and Srishti Behl. Junaid, the elder son of Aamir Khan, and Khushi, the younger daughter of the late Sridevi, make their theatrical debuts. Last year, Zoya Akhtar’s 2023 period coming-of-age musical The Archies on Netflix and Siddharth P. Malhotra’s 2024 period drama Maharaj marked their acting debuts. Loveyapa, which is a remake of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Tamil film Love Today, is about a couple who are forced to switch phones and the amusing results that follow.
The musical action movie Badass Ravikumar, which is the second installment in the Xposé Universe and a spin-off of the 2014 film The Xposé, was produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Saurabh Sachdeva, Simona J, Kirti Kulhari, and Prabhu Deva play supporting parts.
