The drama around vlogger Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent with comedian Samay Raina continues to escalate. Assam Police has finally issued new summons to the participants of the discussion – Allahbadia and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani. Besides Allahbadia and Chanchlani, the police will also call the other three panellists, namely, comedian and host Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, the content creator, and comedian Jaspreet Singh, to appear in connection with the case.

This comes after an Assam Police team deployed on Wednesday to continue with the investigation. According to the reports, the team went to Mumbai Khar Police Station and met senior police officers to plan the investigation. The controversy started when the Guwahati Police filed an FIR on February 10 against the five YouTubers and content creators for promoting obscenity and watching and participating in sexually explicit and vulgar content.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said yes to the FIR and assured that the state will not spare content that is obscene. Apart from the Assam case, the creators are also on the wrong side of the law in Mumbai after two separate complaints have been filed against them for the controversial India’s Got Latent episode. Apoorva Mukhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, went to Khar Police Station on Wednesday to give her statement.

It is also reported that at least seven people, including Ranveer Allahbadia’s manager, have made statements to the Mumbai police.
