The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Delhi is planning to take legal action against Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Mukesh Ahlawat, and Sanjay Singh, regarding allegations of MLA poaching made before the Delhi Assembly election results. This action was taken after AAP leaders had refused to appear before an official ACB to provide more information regarding their claims of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) trying to buy AAP MLAs.

As per the sources that a news agency spoke to, if AAP does not reply, the ACB may write to the Delhi Police and ask for legal action against Kejriwal, Ahlawat and Singh. It all started when Mukesh Ahlawat received an ACB notice on February 7 to produce evidence for the claims he made regarding the attempts made by the BJP to poach AAP legislators. Another notice was issued to Arvind Kejriwal to appear before an inquiry for alleged bribery attempts on 16 AAP MLAs.

The ACB has asked for:

The names of the 16 AAP MLAs who were allegedly contacted by the poachers.

  • What they tweeted regarding the claims of buying and selling of MLAs.
  • The names of the people who allegedly offered the bribes to the MLAs.
  • Any other form of evidence that can support the claims, including social media posts or internal communications.

This case is being handled as an ongoing investigation, and the ACB is moving fast to check the claims. Non-compliance with the notice will lead to further legal measures against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, which will only add to the already heated political struggle between AAP and BJP.
