After the disruption of an impressive opening weekend by Shahid Kapoor-starrer debut Deva, Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s Sky Force continues to fare decent at the box office, especially keeping in view of the stiff competition it received from the new entrants, especially from Deva, who took a majority of the screens away. And while the film started on an impressive note with massive collections from the first week, the second-week buzz did not pick up much due to many factors.

Vacation was directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur and was released on January 24, with positive reviews. The reasonably good word of mouth and discounted ticket prices in its opening week went up to ₹99.70 crore net. The second week might see a sharp decline in collections, which has affected its box office prospects adversely, as it registered a drop of nearly 78%.

After a good start on Friday, collections for the second week were decent, with ₹4.60 crore on Friday and made a jump at the weekend, earning ₹7.40 crore on Saturday and ₹7.80 crore on Sunday. But, the film took a huge fall on weekdays as it managed just ₹7.35 crore from Monday to Thursday. Sky Force logged ₹27.15 crore until the end of week two and ₹126.85 crore net over 14 days.

Although it has crossed ₹125 crore, the film is struggling to get past the breakeven mark as it is said to have been made for ₹150–160 crore. Now, with several Hindi films releasing on big screens, Sky Force is expected to suffer a further defeat in its business. Whether the film is able to close the gap and make big money will depend on the coming days.
