As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nailed a resounding return to power in Delhi after 27 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed gratitude to the people of the national capital by declaring the BJP’s 2025 Assembly election victory in Delhi as a ‘historic victory.’
Speaking about the momentous win, PM Modi assured citizens his government would use every possible effort to ensure Delhi’s’ all-round development’. When speaking on the BJP, Adityanath especially pointed to its policy of improving the lives of Delhi residents and making it a key player in the building of a developed India.
“In addition to this, we will also ensure that Delhi plays an important part in building a made-in-India,” PM Modi said.

At 2:37 PM, the Election Commission of India reported that the BJP had won 12 seats and was leading in 35 more, giving the party a great mandate. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by Arvind Kejriwal, was leading in 13 constituencies and had 10 seats.
The election results also dealt a hammer blow to AAP, with several of its senior leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj and Manish Sisodia, losing their seats.
The BJP has secured a decisive victory, which will not only change the political dynamics in Delhi but also pave the way for the party to pursue its goal of governance in the national capital.
