The AIIMS Bhopal has terminated the services of around 200 ex-servicemen who were appointed in security roles. Indeed, this sudden decision has caused the affected personnel financial difficulty, which outrages everyone.

The dismissed ex-servicemen, along with the Indian Veteran Organization, have written a letter to the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare enquiring them to be reinstated. In their letter, they stressed the attribute of the Indian Veteran Organization as a major body that speaks on behalf of former military men in India. In the various capacities where the administration has needed help, the organization has always come forth to assist the administration, and moreover, it has supported ex-servicemen in time of need.

The affected personnel were disappointed as around 200 ex-servicemen were finally taking care of AIIMS Bhopal diligently. However, they were displaced jarringly from their duties. However, they claimed they were being treated unfairly since ex-servicemen were always well known for the dedication and honesty they have in safeguarding public property. The letter appealed to the Health Minister to send out an order to the AIIMS Bhopal director to reinstate them immediately.

In return, AIIMS Bhopal’s management stated that the contracts of these ex-servicemen had expired and were henceforth terminated. This was a routine process; officials at the institute said only the new agency was responsible for the contract when the contract period expired. However, AIIMS did not clarify why the new agency had not thought of rehiring the dismissed ex-servicemen.

However, the case remains unresolved, and the affected persons are still fighting through the lens of seeking the government’s intervention to get them reinstated.
