Shahid Kapoor starrer crime action thriller Deva, directed by renowned Malayalam filmmaker Roshan Andrews and starring Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Pravesh Rana, Kubbra Sait, and others, also marks Andrews’ much-awaited debut in Bollywood.

Reports show that Deva’s first three days’ box office collection in India, in all languages, was as follows: The movie made Rs 5.50 crore on Day 1 (Friday). The collection increased significantly to Rs 6.42 crore on Day 2 (Saturday). However, the film has already made Rs 0.11 crore on Day 3 (Sunday), taking its total India net revenue to Rs 12.03 crore.

Shahid plays a new and intense role in Deva, and viewers praised his on-screen chemistry with Pooja Hegde from the beginning. Deva is a Hindi remake of Andrews’ 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran. Deva has generated a lot of curiosity, from the trailer to the actors and soundtrack. However, despite the enthusiasm, the movie’s review upon release was not entirely positive.

The film Deva is the story of ACP Dev Ambre; this character is played by Shahid Kapoor. Dev is an angry womanizing cop who loses his memory while investigating the murder of his best friend. The film is a remake of Roshan Andrews’ 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. Although the main plot remains the same in this film, several significant changes have been made to the script to give it a new twist, especially in the climax. Pooja Hegde plays Divya Sathaye, a journalist and Dev’s love interest who plays an important role in his journey.
