The question of the Constitution took much centrality in Indian politics in the past few months. The government has been particularly keen on raining the narrative from the opposition side of the equator. Subsequent to the recent two-day parliamentary discussion on the Constitution and launching the initiative of holding one-year celebrations to mark the 75th year of the Constitution, the government is now all set to make its presence at Mahakumbh 2025.
Under this campaign, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, will establish a separate booth at Mahakumbh. This stall will have the vision of creating awareness among the public about the Indian Constitution. People can extend general orientation in terms of history, function, and organization, as well as buy the necessary books and literature about the Constitution. The ministry opines that Mahakumbh represents unity, harmony, and justice and that no other occasion better fits the culture of the Constitution.
The pavilion will also have an information touch screen with a link to the Constitution for people to read. The information about the Constitution will be explained in an easy-to-understand LMS digital flipbook to cater to all age levels. The preamble of the Indian constitution and the first page of the Indian constitution will be highlighted on posters placed on the Mahakumbh grounds.
The stall will also focus on how the government envisions the upliftment of the downtrodden, such as the Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribe, and the Other Backward Classes. Education and entertainment are provided through Constitution quizzes and other activities to familiarize and improve visitors’ Constitution knowledge.
As many as 50 million participants are expected during Mahakumbh. This social cause project marks the government’s proactive approach to dismissing the allegations made by the opposition regarding the party’s stance against the backward population. Through associating the Constitution with welfare schemes and sensitization, the government wants to convince the masses of its support for social causes, inclusiveness, and stability while dealing with political issues.
