Mumbai Road Accident: A major road accident has taken place in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai. A BEST bus crushed about 30 people in Kurla, Mumbai. Six people died in the accident. The deceased were 3 women and 3 men. 26 people were seriously injured. The accident took place on Monday night at around 9:45 pm. BEST bus number 332 went out of control, crushed several vehicles and about 30 people, and stopped after breaking the wall of a society. The exact reason of the accident is not clear yet. Mumbai Police has taken the bus driver into custody.

Shiv Sena MLA Dilip Lande claimed that the driver of the BEST bus involved in Monday night’s fatal accident at SG Barve Marg in Mumbai’s Kurla West, which left four dead and around 25 injured, panicked and mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

At the same time, after the accident, a huge crowd gathered at the spot, which created an atmosphere of chaos. Mumbai Police took immediate action and detained the bus driver. Fire brigade and ambulance teams reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. Police have started investigating the case.

However, eyewitnesses alleged that the bus driver was inebriated and could not control the heavy vehicle. Inspector Bharat Jadhav from the state transport department said prima facie, the bus’s brakes are fine. He added that a detailed analysis would be done later.
