Bijapur: Recently, the Naxalites burnt a mobile tower near the Moramed village belonging to the Toynar police station in the Bijapur district. It caused a lot of tension late at night, and people in the surrounding areas were really scared. As for the incident, local people discovered the trees were broken early in the morning and reported it to the police. Police authorities arrived at the scene shortly and launched an investigation process into the matter.
As per reliable sources, Bijapur’s Extra Assistant Commissioner of Police and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chandakant Gavarna also endorsed the above occurrence under disclosure and put forward information saying that police have initiated looking into the case. He affirmed that authorities are taking it seriously and are investigating the reasons and individuals behind it as a case of sabotage.
The mobile tower blast has also affected the communication system in the concerned region, causing inconvenience to several people. That is the sort of act that the Naxalites employ to counter development whereby they cut off service delivery by detonating mines such as the telecommunications industry.
Such circumstances continue to demonstrate the tendencies of the Naxalite groups in some parts of India, including Chhattisgarh. The government has been trying to fight some of them with more stringent security to curb their activities and spur development. However, difficulties persisting in protecting infrastructures and the people in such areas continue to occur.
Police patrol has increased in the area, and authorities are working with the police to restore such facilities. On their part, the local communities have been put on alert to report any strange activities within the region to the concerned departments. This shows that development and mining work is a continuous bitter battle with the extremist Naxalites in the affected regions of India, and it is high time that equal importance must be given to understanding both the extremes of this fight for a balance of development with peace.
