Rohit Sharma, the Indian cricket team’s captain, took the stage during a speech before the Australian Parliament on Thursday and passionately expressed the warm and long-endearing bond between India and Australia. On that occasion, he spoke about the warm bilateral relations that exist not only in sports but also in business and tourism. Rohit said he was privileged to be part of Australia’s cricket competition and was overwhelmed by the kind reception given to the Indian team by the people of Australia.

Admitting the fact that the current cricket confrontation between the two nations is cutthroat, especially in memorable series like the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he said this actually makes the bilateral ties between India and Australia stronger. He stated that both teams have always displayed excellent on-field rivalry, but off the field, the two teams remained friends, and the cricketing rivalry between the two countries is among the most keenly contested in the world.

”India and Australia have been trading and participating in sports for a very long time,” said Rohit in his speech. “That is why we like to play cricket here, and Australia is a team we can face because the people are devoted fans and players are very competitive with each other. As if it is always a privilege to come up against one of the best teams in the world.”

He also expressed his personal interest in Australia, saying the nation’s cities and, in fact, its culture is highly spirited. He explained how happy his team is when going for cricket tours in Australia, noting the conditions that they have to face on the playing grounds and the fans that make each series interesting.

“It had an international cricket ground here wherein recently a Test match was won. We plan to maintain that kind of trend and be a part of that good cultural aspect of Australia. I was looking forward to giving both the Indian and Australian fans good cricket in the remaining matches,” he said. Rohit said his last words of speech by expressing his thanks to the Australian Parliament and repeated words all over again to get another chance to visit and play.
