The Sabarmati Report has earned approximately ₹11.45 crore in India. This figure reflects a consistent daily collection, with the film maintaining a daily average around the ₹1 crore mark since its release.

The Sabarmati Report’ is based on the burning of S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express near Godhra station of Gujarat on February 27, 2002, in which 59 Hindu devotees returning from Ayodhya were burnt to death. The incident triggered riots in Gujarat that year.

While The Sabarmati Report has performed well in its first week, it faces competition from other niche films like I Want To Talk, starring Abhishek Bachchan, which released concurrently. The upcoming weekend will be crucial for determining whether the film can sustain its momentum or if it will see a decline in collections.

Critical Reception

Despite its steady box office performance, the film has received mixed reviews from critics. While many praise Vikrant Massey’s performance and the film’s engaging storyline, others feel that it has not reached the heights of his previous successful release, 12th Fail.

“DThe Sabarmati Express springs a pleasant surprise, the Week 1 performance exceeds expectations… While the opening week’s numbers may not be massive, the consistent day-wise trends, particularly during weekdays, indicate a strong showing in Weekend 2”, wrote Taran Adarsh on X.

Meanwhile, Singham Again made a magnanimous start at the Indian box office. Despite all the mixed word-of-mouth, it would be safe to say that Ajay Devgn starrer has scored a decent box office collection. It is the highest-grossing film in the cop universe. Ironically, it is still not a successful one due to its massive budget.
