Six persons of Bangladesh origin were arrested near Holalkere Road in Chitradurga city on the charges of cross-border trespassing and living without valid documents on November 18. The individuals who were caught during police patrols are Shek Saifur Rohaman, Muhammed Suman Husen Ali, Majharul, Azizul Shaik, Muhammed Sakib Sikdar, and Sanowar Hossain at Aravind Garments and White Wash Garments located at Dhavalagiri Layout.
The arrest was consequent to a mobile patrol on Holalkere Road in Chitradurga district when the behaviour of the group formed the basis of further enquiry, as stated by a Chitradurga police spokesperson. During interrogation and verification of papers seized from the persons, it was found out that they were all Bangladeshi nationals who had crossed over to India several years back with the objective of settling in this country permanently, it added.
That is according to the report, which also said that the accused had first entered India through West Bengal. They then got fake Aadhaar cards and other identification documents in Kolkata after entering the country.
With these fake CVs, they got jobs and fled from one state to another in order to continue their criminal activities. The last move took them to Chitradurga city in order to find employment for themselves.
The suspects were found with several fake documents, which include the following: fake Aadhaar cards, fake voter ID cards, fake labour cards, fake bank statements, fake PAN cards and even fake passports. Some of the seized items are being subjected to analytical and forensic features as part of the research investigation.
The police noted that legal cases had been filed against the people for their unlawful actions, such as spying, impersonation, and having forged documents. They are also engaged in efforts to establish any organizational link and or persons that the immigrants had used to secretly enter and live in the host country. This case shows that social amenities should be protected against illegitimate immigration and document fraud.
