Trinamool Congress (TMC) councillor Sushanta Ghosh had a close shave on Friday evening when a gunman aimed at him at point-blank range, only to discover that the bullet would not fire. This happened in the Kasba area of Kolkata, and it was all captured on the camera.
The video identifies the victim as Ghosh, a councillor with Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC). He is seen seated on a chair outside his house when two men on a scooter come over to him. He gets off the pillion, runs to Ghosh, and tries to shoot him with a-handed pistol. But the gun does not fire owing to a failure, which would have cost the life of Ghosh.
Ghosh and other passengers near him do not miss the opportunity to go toward the aggressors. The attackers try to escape on a scooter, but a driver crashes, and the would-be shooter falls. A resident and other members of the public chase the attacker and report him to the police while the other hoodlum flees.
A police spokesperson confirmed the details, saying, “The incident occurred at around 8:10 pm when two men came on scoot. Out of the two, they both attempted to shoot at Ghosh, but a round did not come out of the gun as it was jammed.” The officer investigating this case is interrogating the arrested shooter just to find out why he performed the shooting.
Some newspapers suggested that the murderers were hired from Bihar to execute the Trinamool Congress leader. Law enforcement agencies are still searching for other people involved in carrying out the full details of the scheme.
