The Chhattisgarh High Court has come out with its annual calendar for the year 2025 with information on holidays and vacations.
Altogether, the High Court is to remain closed on 26 working days for national and regional festivals apart from a summer recess of 26 days and a winter vacation of 10 days. Additionally, the court and registry will not be open on Sunday and on the second and third Saturday of the month.
According to the academic calendar developed, the summer vacation will be from May 12, 2025 to June 6, 2025. In this period the High Court will be shut down while the registry will be open. In the same way, the winter vacation will start on December, 2025 and end on December, 2025. At this time, the registry will be opened between 22 and 24 December, however, it would be closed between 26 December, 2025 and 31 December, 2025.
Others include Milad un nabi, Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Muharram – which commence and end on different dates depending on moon sighting. Whenever the state government communicates changes to these dates through television, radio or newspapers, the High Court shall adhere to the new dates after the consent of the Chief Justice.
Moreover, any of the officers and employees of the High Court are given a chance to select three, optional holidays out of those indicated by the state government for 2025. There is also possibility to make sudden holidays declared by the state government admissible for the High Court if they are approved by the permanent committee.
The following is a broad holiday calendar for the court, its officials and employees, and the general public to help everyone understand the closed and open days and also capture the flexibility that may be necessary in observing the changed holidays. The calendar carries a message not only of the improvement of the functioning of the Chhattisgarh High Court but also of the respect of multiculturalism and multireligious society.
