On Saturday, a devastating bomb explosion in the Quetta railway station in the South West of Pakistan resulted in the death of at least 20 people and left 30 others injured.

From the preliminary findings, the blast happened at a time when the Jaffer Express, which is an express train heading for Peshawar, was about to pull out. Confusing account, have it that the blast may have occurred inside the station or around the booking hall. The Jaffer Express bound for Peshawar, which was to leave at 9 a.m., was on the platform but had not started moving when the blast took place.

Authorities fear that the high number of fatalities has been caused by the large turnout of people at the station at around the time of the explosion. Soon, the scene attracted emergency responders who ferried the injured to the nearby hospitals. The local authorities have since endeavored to seal off the station to additional harm and assess the exact place and root of the blast.

Until now, none of the militant groups has owned up to the attack. This violent trend has added to the pressure on Pakistan’s security forces, which are already struggling due to a higher slew of assaults.

It demanded that the authorities provide better safety and security for the people from such types of acts, especially people movement areas like bus stands, railway stations, etc. The authorities have carried on with their efforts to find other individuals involved in the incident and have promised the public justice.

The recent attack shows Pakistan’s adversaries as it struggles to deal with militant threats in multiple areas and calls for improved cooperation in improving security and avoiding further catastrophes.
