Raipur: According to an official on Thursday (October 24, 2024), the Chhattisgarh government’s recently released app for online property registration has received positive feedback, with over 1,200 registrations completed since the platform’s launch earlier this week.
The ‘Sugam App’ was released on October 21 with the intention of improving the transparency and usability of the property registration process, according to a public relations department official. According to him, the app has become more and more popular since its release, helping more than 1,200 property registrations throughout the state and indicating a major move toward online registration.
“The government is committed towards more and more technological applications and procedural improvements in the registry work for citizen empowerment. The Sugam app is an important step towards preventing property-related fraud,” the state’s Finance Minister, O.P. Choudhary, said in a statement.
A single property has reportedly been sold to several individuals, and in certain instances, registries for properties that do not exist have been handed in. Additionally, there have also been instances where land designated for roads, pathways, or gardens was sold fraudulently. As instructed by the Sugam App, the party registering will physically visit the property covered by the agreement and take pictures of it from three different perspectives.
According to the official, the property’s precise location will be permanently noted in the registry paper, allowing the party to visit and identify it at any time. Additionally, the app will assist in reducing government revenue loss. He added that the app will reveal the property’s true structure, preventing the government from losing money.
