A prime accused is a 34-year-old television actress, Namely Shamnath, who was arrested by the Paravur police at her house in Ozhivupara, Kerala on Friday night. The arrest resulted from police receiving a tip from someone who informed them that they should arrest her while she was at her house. Before that, the officials learned that in the course of the search, police officials found approximately two milligrams of methylenedioxyphenethylamine, or MDMA, which is a controlled substance.
Cops have records where Shamnath has been using MDMA for quite some time now. She possessed approximately two milligrams of MDMA. Some signs suggest that she has been in the use of these drugs for quite some time now,” a police official told a news agency. Detectives are probing the case to track the people who could have been providing her with the prohibited substance.
Shamnath has been arrested under specific provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act that regulates the laws of drugs in India. This particular case helps to understand the problem of drug consumption in the entertainment business, and the industry has recently become quite critical. Numerous celebrities, including movie actors and prominent personalities, have been involved in similar cases that call for understanding the factors that affect celebrities.
The Kerala police have agreed with the statement that their ongoing investigation has the intention of finding not only the source of Shamnath’s drug supply but also curbing such incidents in the industry. This arrest is a wake-up call to society to enforce more rigid laws on drugs and to educate people on the dangers of taking drugs. This is why, now and then, we see the other side of the entertainment industry, which is rather brutal and needs to be stopped.
