Satna: A massive fire swept through the Rajgharana Store, a home decoration and furnishing showroom situated at Satna-Rewa Road, Kolgawan police station area of Satna, Madhya Pradesh. It occurred at late night and was immediately destructive. The moment the fire was spotted, people in the community ensured the firefighting service was informed. The fire brigade team arrived near the scene and, with a lot of effort, succeeded in putting off the fire.
The fire broke out around 10:0 PM Thursday, which led to some locals panicking as massive flames and lots of black smoke were seen coming from the roof of the store. A large number of people soon assembled outside the showroom, which caused a traffic jam on the Satna Rewa road. This was due to a security check that required the shutoff of electricity in the area, making the neighbourhood even tenser.
Preliminary reports suggest that the total burnt-out clothes in the showroom, along with home decoration and furnishing items, got fully damaged and caused a loss of lakhs. As much as the actual cause of the fire has not been identified, it is believed to have resulted from an electrical short circuit. They said that the fire had posed a great challenge to the firefighters because of the intensity of the fire and the amount of contents of the store that were highly inflammable.
It is evident that many shop owners and residents worry over safety measures raised by this incident. Officials are to determine the fire’s reason and estimate the damages. None of the people in the business died, but the cost of the business is likely to be greatly affected. This is a sad reminder that fire safety measures in business buildings should be stepped up.
