Bhopal: An inaugural ‘Mining Conclave’ is set to be held in Bhopal – the capital city of Madhya Pradesh on the 17th and 18th of October. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said it is in conformity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of transforming the nation into a ”Developed India-2047”. The event will effectively demonstrate the virtual prospects for the mining, oil, gas and minerals-based industries in the state.

According to Dr Yadav, Madhya Pradesh is a mineral–rich state and the only state in India that has diamond mines. It also leads the production of manganese and copper ores. Besides, the state earns second place in the production of Rock phosphate, third place in the production of Limestone, which is used widely in the Cement Industry and fourth place in the production of coal. Furthermore, the state is the second-largest producer of coal gas in the entire nation.

The Mining Conclave is to put the state on the mining map and make mining and mineral-based industries the engine of growth. The forum will gather the heads of companies experts and representatives of the mining industries with a focus on the opportunities, innovations and investment in these lines. The Chief Minister also added that, through this conclave, the state is set to become an important hub showcasing the increasing investment from Madhya Pradesh in India’s industrial and economic progress.

It registered over 600 representatives, senior management of big organizations such as the Northern Coalfields Ltd. (NCL), Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL), National Mineral Development Corp. (NMDC), Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC), GAIL etc. It is going to be a meeting point for entrepreneurs and industry leaders from other states, hence making it a platform for addressing mining and industrial development in India.

Union Ministers attending the event include G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Mines; S.C. Dubey, Minister of State for Mines, and Secretary of Ministry of Mines V.L. Kantha Rao.
