Kanpur: Police informed that on Monday, five people, including four students of a private college and a driver, died after their car was crushed between two speeding trucks in Ruma-Bhaunti flyover.

The students were traveling to their college when the incident happened. They had to cut through the destroyed car to get the bodies out, according to Rajesh Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West).

Ayushi Patel, a first-year computer science student; Garima Tripathi, a second-year student; Satish Kumar, a third-year computer science and engineering student; and Prateek Singh, a fourth-year electronics and communication engineering student, have been identified as the deceased students.

“All four students were traveling in a car driven by a driver on way to the Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology and had hardly reached Panki when their car got sandwiched between two trucks,” Deputy Commissioner Singh told the media.

Five people perished in the horrifying crash, including the driver and four students. “The drivers of both trucks left the scene of the collision quickly; both trucks have been seized,“ he added.
