The Mumbai Police are currently looking into a case of a shooting which involved the actor Govinda and where he got injured on the leg due to an accidental discharge of his revolver. The shooting took place at his home at dawn on Tuesday, according to Govinda, who said the gun slipped from his hand and discharged a bullet that struck him. As a result of the incident, the Mumbai Crime Branch is said to have separately launched investigations to leave no stone unturned.

The Crime Branch team, accompanied by Senior Police Inspector Daya Nayak, visited Govinda in the hospital on Wednesday in order to get more information. However, as the reports unveiled, the investigators do not quite trust the story told by this man. As per the sources available in connection to the case, the police have cleared a murder bed and still are inclined to disbelieve the accidental shooting. Therefore, they might want to take Govinda’s statement afresh in order to eliminate any confusion that might have arisen.

It has also been reported no official case has been filed with regard to the said incident to date. The actor owns an official revolver of the Webley company, and it is known that the bullet hit him in the region of the left knee. A police official said the revolver, said by Govinda to be an older model, was not put away properly, and it misfired.

To this end, the police have recently been trying to beef up precaution measures just to contain the situation so that they can unravel some of the root causes that must have led to the accident in the first instance. This is because it requires assessing the various safety measures relating to carrying and using firearms. During the investigation, both the Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch tried to get every detail of the case, and the actor’s information had to match the details of the subject matter.
