Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who leads the opposition in the Lower House of the Indian Parliament, the Lok Sabha, on Monday said that the BJP and its parent organisation, the RSS, are promoting hate and violence in the country. At a political rally meeting held at the Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, Gandhi said the functionaries of the BJP said that wherever they go, they sow discord among caste, religious, state and linguistic groups and precipitate strife. He particularly focused on the BJP for its move to split the Pahari and Gujjar categories, as he argued this move would not work.

In his response to hate, Gandhi affirmed the position that love held a prominent standing as another efficient weapon. ”It only angers me, sir, that love can be cut into pieces.” On one side are the haters, and on the other side are those opening shops of love. In order to eliminate hate, only love can triumph over hate. “On one side are those sowing seeds of division; we are workers of unification, on their side there are hatreds; on ours there are only loves,” he said, reiterating the Congress Party’s policy on integration and tolerance.

He continued to say that the Congress Party would continue to march forward by promoting the unity of all people and extending equality to every person. As Gandhi said, “We do not see the caste, creed, or colour here; for us, everyone is equal, and no one will be sidelined here.” He assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that he was ready to take up any of their grievances in the Parliament; in fact, he told them he could work on any issues that were raised.

Rahul Gandhi also spoke about the increasing might of the opposition in the wake of the more recent Lok Sabha results. He commented that the opposition is now firmly against the BJP government and its policies and measures that go against people’s interests. From the above analysis, one can easily note that Narendra Modi, who once was full of self-confidence, does not have it anymore and it shows. We have changed his psychology, and he is no longer the leader they had; Gandhi supported this idea as the opposition continued to progress.
