Gwalior: The rainfall has crossed the records of the past 24 hours in Madhya Pradesh. It has been raining continuously since Tuesday in many districts of the state. Meanwhile, rivers and streams are overflowing due to heavy rains in Gwalior since late night. The gates of Tighra dam have been opened once again.

Madhya Pradesh has received the highest rainfall since 1990. Due to torrential rains in the district, rivers and streams are overflowing in urban and rural areas. Heavy rains have been continuing since late night. Due to this there is waterlogging in dozens of colonies. After the warning of the Meteorological Department, the district administration had evacuated the low-lying settlements, colonies and villages in urban and rural areas yesterday. If the rain continues, the situation in the district may worsen once again. Let us tell you that on September 11 also, rain had wreaked similar havoc. After which SDRF, NDRF and Army had to take charge.

In lieu of this, the District Education Officer has issued a big order. The quarterly examination to be held today in government high schools, higher secondary schools in the district has been postponed. This decision was taken due to heavy rain. Now the time and date of when these examinations will be held will be announced soon.

Asia’s Second Largest Soundproof Bridge Damaged in MP

Asia’s largest soundproof bridge, constructed in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district on National Highway 44 has been severely damaged after continuous rainfall. The bridge was constructed with a massive budget of Rs 960 crores by a private company. As per multiple reports, the repair work is currently underway, causing frequent traffic disruptions on the highway, which connects Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

The bridge, located near the Pench Tiger Reserve on the Seoni-Nagpur route, was designed to minimize noise pollution and includes light reducers and 14 wildlife underpasses. Constructed by private firm Dilip Buildcon at a cost of ₹960 crores, the bridge spans 29 kilometers. Despite a 10-year guarantee, the structure began showing signs of damage just five years after completion, with cracks and broken sections reported following heavy rainfall.
