In the final match of the Asian Champions Trophy, India won the title by defeating China 1-0 in a tough match. The defending Indian hockey team has won the title for the 5th time. The match between India and China was tied for three quarters, but in the fourth quarter, Jugraj Singh converted a brilliant pass into a goal for India and gave Team India the title over China.
This match between India and China was a close contest. The Indian team got 4 penalty corners in the match but could not score a goal. Whereas the host China got five penalty corners. But it failed to penetrate the Indian goal post. In the fourth quarter of the match, Jugraj Singh ended the goal drought and gave India a 1-0 lead with 9 minutes remaining. Jugraj’s goal in the 51st minute proved to be decisive in the match and the Indian team failed to win the Asian Champions Trophy title by defeating the host China 1-0.
