Raipur: The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan 2024’ was inaugurated today amidst proper protocol at the Telibandha Lake in Raipur. Even on this occasion, Vishnudev Sai, the Chief Minister, took a cleanliness pledge together and started the campaign. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao inaugurated the function said Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata, which means cleanliness has to become a natural habit of the people. The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign shall be launched across Chhattisgarh on 17th September and will go up till 1st October 2024.
Well-known personalities who graced the launching ceremony included, Independent MLAs; Purandar Mishra, Motilal Sahu, and Anuj Sharma; Secretary of Urban Administration Department S. Basavaraju, Raipur Mayor Ejaz Dhebar; the Opposition in the Raipur Municipal Corporation Minal Choubey, District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, and the Municipal Commissioner Abinash Mishra. Many sanitation workers, including school and college-going students, along with social organization workers, also joined the event. The NGOs associated with the cleanliness campaign were awarded, and sanitizations were given masks, gloves, and other protective gear as an appreciation for the excellent role they played.
Speaking at the launch event, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said that the campaign will be launched on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, which is his best wish to the Prime Minister on behalf of 3 crore people of Chhattisgarh. He could remember that Modi repetition initiated the cleanliness campaign across the country in 2014 at the Red Fort, and since then, the crusade has elicited some transformations. The issue of cleanliness has been brought to the public domain, the development of toilets as a part of sanitation, and women’s safety, especially in the rural areas, has improved.
CM Sai also reinforced that cleanliness has to become a cultured practice among everybody and ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ has to be taken as a social cause. He pointed out that Mr. Modi is a prime minister who hails from a poor background and is very much concerned with the downtrodden section of the society and has indeed worked for the upliftment of such sections.
