Bhind: Flood have created havoc in Bhind of Madhya Pradesh and many losses. 10 of the villages in the Babedi and Bharoli panchayat areas of the state have been flooded, leaving some areas isolated from the rest of the area due to the flood. More than a hundred villages are still power-less as the electricity supply has been affected and interrupted. The bridge on the Bharoli road has also been washed away and hence is not motorable.

Currently, the Baisli River is swollen, and it looks terrifying. Other rivers like Sindh, Kuwari, and Jhilimil are also inundated because of continuous rain. Various districts of the state, especially the rural district in Bharoli police station areas, have been badly affected, and over a dozen villages have been flooded. The Baisli River alone has affected more than a dozen villages of Babedi and Bharoli Panchayats.

The bridge on the Baisli River that joins Bhind and Bharoli is at present submerged to a depth of 5 feet, making the actual road impassable and thereby isolating communication with more than one hundred villages in the area. Besides the roadblock, the electricity supply has also been switched off, leaving the areas in total blackout. The local police and the district administration are relocating people to safer places.

Kaushalendra Rajawat, who stated himself as the son of the sarpanch of Babedi Panchayat, said that food and shelter for the affected families are being arranged. On the other hand, Bhind Collector Sanjeev Srivastava and SP Dr. Asit Yadav are keenly watching these developments. Nonetheless, tapping had left the residents dissatisfied with the lack of elected representatives’ visits to the villages affected during this period of calamity. The storms are still raging, and the authorities are attempting to bring the situation back to normal as quickly as possible.
