Khairagarh: The district police of Khairagarh have exposed an interstate gang for manufacturing fake liquor. Eight of the members of this gang have been arrested so far, while four of them escaped arrest. Apart from this, the police have recovered machinery and other equipment valued at more than 1.6 million rupees, which were being utilised in these operations. SP Khairagarh Trilok Bansal said that the main accused, identified as Jaikaran Gurupanch of Khunteli Kala, Chuikhadan, has been involved in this d liau business for several days along with his other accomplices, namely Narsingh Verma of Vicharpur and Vinod Soni of Udaipur.
Earlier, the police had nabbed seven persons involved in all acts; they exposed this big-level inter-state phony liquor syndicate apart. From the investigation, it has been observed that the operations of the group were not limited to Chhattisgarh but were linked with Nagpur, Maharashtra. Rohit Babbar and Mohammad Shamim, both from Nagpur, provided Jaikaran and his accomplices with fake stickers, holograms, and bottle caps similar to the ones utilized by the actual liquor brands.
The gang was copying white country-made liquor using spirit and chemicals at a poultry farm in the Parpodi area of Bemetara district, Chhattisgarh. They kept the seized fake liquor in Syntex tanks, and after that, they took it to a private farmhouse in Raonda village of Durg district to pack it in bottles. When the bottles of the gang’s fake liquor were prepared, the gang, using one or more intermediaries and salesmen, supplied it to several regions in the districts of the rural areas.
After these arrests, the police are still conducting their investigations on this gang and have assured that more people are involved with this racket will be arrested. This bust has, therefore, unveiled the extent of this interstate illicit business of liquor that is a harbinger of danger to the welfare of the populace.
