The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, has recently been extremely critical of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, both for himself and his party, and accused the latter of having provided negative input about India during the recent trip to the United States. Further, Shinde described Gandhi’s comments as arising from a “petty mentality,” expressing, “Whenever Rahul Gandhi goes abroad, he spews venom against the country. The country cannot accommodate such a petty mindset. ” In his view, it had been the tradition of the Congress party to do politics in the name of religion and caste.

Eknath Shinde personally named Gandhi for creating confusion over reservation in India, saying that, “Creating confusion over the constitution and reservation has become their fashion; Rahul Gandhi’s anti-reservation face has come before the world now. ” While stressing that the Mahayuti government supports reservation policies, Shinde said that as long as he remained a true soldier of Shiv Sena, he would not allow reservation to be done away with.

This statement came after a similar reprimand of Rahul Gandhi by Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his statements in the U.S; Shah asserted that this is a trend where Gandhi supports “forces that plot to divide the nation. “ The BJP will not allow any removal of reservation or jeopardization of the nation’s security.

In his speech, Rahul Gandhi concentrated on his vision of separated people who do not have an opportunity to become a part of India’s political and economic life. He said, “There is an elephant in the room here when we discuss the capture of institutions, businesses, and the media; 90 percent of India—OBCs, Dalits, Adivasis—aren’t even in the game. ” Gandhi also echoed the sentiment that two businessmen are incapable of running the country as a whole.
