The Ukrainian military said on Monday that Russia has launched a massive missile and drone campaign on Ukraine, flooding the country with devastation and death toll. At least seven explosions were reported in the capital city of Kyiv while the government put out an alert across the country in anticipation of possible Russian air raids. This attack has so far claimed three lives, with victims in the western city of Lutsk, the eastern region of Dnipro, and the southern region of Zaporizhzhia.
Ukraine Air Force said that ten Russian TU-95 strategic bombers were airborne from the Kaliningrad territory and added that one of them fired off several missiles. He said that the military identified several groups of Russian drones which are approaching different regions of Ukraine, including east, north, south and central. This attack has been described as one of Russia’s largest invasions of Ukraine in recent weeks; it began around midnight and went on into the morning.
Authorities in Lutsk stated a large blast by Russia, which destroyed a residential building and claimed one life. In the south, the governors of Odesa and Zaporizhzhia and in the north, Kharkiv, reported that they also had explosions. They have called on the residents to seek refuge right now.
Currently, the emergency services are working with great intensity to respond to cases of damage and victims all over the affected area. The official Kyiv responded to the strike as an act of aggression, stating that only with the help of foreign actors is it possible to prevent such actions. The fighting goes on to this date, and the protection of civilians is becoming a serious issue in the middle of the confrontation.
