Balod: Another shocking incidence of murder that recently came to light in the district is the brutal murder of a young BJP-backed sarpanch whose throat was slit with a sharp weapon. The dead body of the sarpanch was found in the bedroom of a postman in his house. As soon as the officers received information on the occurrence, they hurried to the site and started an investigation. The postman has been arrested, and so the interrogation process has begun.
This heinous act occurred in Khertha Bazar village, which falls under the Sanjari out-Firishtal area of the Daudilohara Police Station. The victim has been named as Vikram Sinha, a young man who was a sarpanch being backed by the BJP. Around the cock crow, he was killed in cold blood, and his throat was cut horribly. They said his dead body was recovered from the bedroom of his friend Ramji Prajapati, who is a postman by profession.
It was when the police got to the scene that they were able to arrest Ramji Prajapati, still in the house where the murder was committed. Without a second thought, they locked the house so as to preserve some traces, if any were present at all. Police have also called forensic teams and a dog squad to help in the investigation process.
The police have picked the suspect, Ramji Prajapati, and have taken him for questioning over the incident. Early reports in the news were that the duo were close friends, though the relationship as friends has not been well explained. Cops feel that Ramji Prajapati could have murdered Chhaya herself in those hours of the night that she was killed. The chilling fact is that it is said that after the crime, he slept with the dead body of the sarpanch for the night.
This evil act continues to be probed by the police, who are trying to establish further proportions of this crime. However, the reason for the murder has not been established, and this was expected to be revealed after conducting more interviews with the suspect and other forensic evidence.
