Pandhurna: The number of people killed in the bus accident in the Pandhurna district of Madhya Pradesh has now reached five. The tragedy was yesterday when a passenger bus developed an accident and caused it to overturn, hence killing three passengers on the spot. Many of the others were seriously injured and were taken to the civil hospital. Some of the most severely injured were shifted to a hospital in Nagpur. Due to the severity of the injuries, two more passengers passed away, taking the death toll to five.

The incident occurred on the Nagpur Bhopal highway NH 47 as the bus went to Indore from Nagpur. The event took place in the Mohi Ghat area in Pandhurna district. It is reported that the bus was operated by Verma Travellers and had many passengers on board when suddenly the bus lost its control and turned turtle. The cause of the tragedy has not been ascertained yet, but it is suspected that three buses may have been moving at a high speed or the bus driver might have lost control of the vehicle as the area was a hilly region, the Mohi Ghat.

They said that the accident was immediately reported, and both the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) and the police team immediately arrived at the scene. Members of the emergency crews did not waste time in attending to the injured people and some of them were ferried to nearby hospitals. Others were in the form of ambulances that were on stand-by mainly because faster treatment was necessary, hence enhancing the chances of survival in case of an eventuality.

The unfortunate incident has caused uproar in society, with a lot of negative sentiment being displayed in the event, loss of lives and injuries of the passengers. The authorities have given a statement that a detailed investigation into the cause of the mishap will be made as well as establishing measures against such occurrence in the future. Meanwhile, the emphasis is placed on rendering the required assistance to the victims.
