Ujjain: In the context of his overall tour, a Rajasthan Assembly member and spiritual master of the Yogi Sabha Mahant Balaknath Yogi, went to the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Thursday. The horrendous crimes against women perpetrated in the name of goddesses and by people claiming to be devotees are disgusting and shameful, says Mahant Balaknath of Shanidevi Peeth. On his visit to Ujjain, he duly performed a ceremonial worship (Abhishek) of Lord Mahakal and participated in Bhasma Aarti. It was performed with all the religious trappings and formalities that are normally observed, and it was done by priests Navneet Sharma and Roopam Sharma.
Performing Poojaa with Mahant Balaknath was Shri Peeryogi Ramnath Ji Maharaj, Head of Bharthari Gufa, the spiritually important seat. The worship and Abhishek were being done as prescribed by the Vedic injunctions; hence the program was spiritually uplifting for those who were privileged to be part of it.
This was especially fulfilled by Mahant Balaknath, who conducted the Bhasma Aarti for the first time and felt great satisfaction. He noted that he was privileged to be able to attend the Bhasma Aarti, which he had been eager to attend. “Today has been my fortune to have Baba Mahakal Darshan. Today, I got the chance to see Bhasma Aarti at its best. Now, I have got a feeling that I have seen my Lord directly. I prayed for the welfare of all seths, and god bless everyone to follow the path shown by the divine.”
As a mark of respect, one of Mahant Balaknath’s followers, Vivek Singh Rao from Gurgaon, offered to contribute One Lakh rupees to the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple. The donation was accepted by the temple’s management committee, which was comprised of Umesh Pandya and Ashish Dubey, who welcomed Mahant Balaknath with a lot of respect. The committee disclosed the amount and provided the donor with an official receipt and appreciation in words.
Apart from being a sacred religious ceremony, the visit of Mahant Balaknath to the temple of Mahakaleshwar also emphasized the existing bond.
