Raipur: During the festival of Raksha Bandhan, many girls and young ladies went to the residence of Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai to celebrate Raksha Bandhan and tie Rakhis on his hand. People from the transgender community were also present there, and Rakhis were distributed to the Chief Minister. This event was the first time in the history of India. The other sisters, including the transgender ones, extended their blessings to the Chief Minister for a long, healthy, and happy life. There were also Swachhata Didis, children with disabilities, and recipients of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana; all participating tied rakhi on the CM’s wrist and wished for a long and healthy life.
Similarly, with thanks, Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai distributed gifts to all the sisters and girls around. He reiterated his party’s and government’s commitment to their protection, value, and success while highlighting the government’s attempts to help them.
The Chief Minister also conveyed his Raksha Bandhan’s best wishes to all the sisters and girls out there. He said that although he is not blessed with a biological sister, the warmth and goodwill he receives from sisters in the state touched him. This largely showed love and support made him to be part of a bigger family. He reaffirmed the government’s assurance of the protection, dignity, and welfare of all women and girls in the state.
He explained that the Mahatari Vandan Yojana was a step towards this vision as 7 lakh women and sisters in Chhattisgarh would get ₹1,000 monthly allowance. They have got not only financial support to maintain themselves but also their social and family status has improved so much that they can manage their basic needs of life with honor. On the other side, the Chief Minister remarked that nothing could give him more strength and encouragement than the affection and blessings of these sisters.
