New Delhi: After the unfortunate incident where three aspirants of UPSC had drowned in a flooded building at Coaching centers in central Delhi, AAP Minister Atishi revealed that the Delhi government will pass a law that regulates all coaching centers. They introduced a proposed law seeking to provide rules and regulations on these centers’ physical facilities, trainers, and fees. Accordingly, Atishi was categorical that regulation changes would help ensure adequate safety measures in the coaching centers and offer quality education.
Similarly, a public interest litigation (PIL) is expected to be filed soon in the Delhi High Court by the public trust called Kutumb. Through its trustee, the PIL asks for the court order to be granted on its formation of a high-level committee into the occurrence. The demand of the petition has been the investigation into the death of the three aspiring candidates who choked to death in a coaching institute’s basement in New Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar.
Further, the court is likely to pronounce its order on the proceedings of the bail application of the five co-owners of the basement of the particular coaching center in this scam at about 4 PM today. This plea will be heard in the Delhi High Court, and it is in relation with the legal consequence of the dreadful incident.
In another legal evolution, the Rouse Avenue court has further remanded former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and BRS leader K Kavitha till August 13 in an illegal liquor policy case. This extension is associated with their part in a corruption scandal linked to the excise policy ‘scam.’ Both persons are in the middle of the alleged corruption in the policy.
Regarding these events, the Delhi government’s legislation and cases argue the necessity of enhancing protective measures and responsibilities across educational institutions.
