India is gearing by its strong desire to challenge stereotypes. Nikhat Zareen who took up boxing at the age of thirteen is displacing societal norms with a strong dedication to changing the color of her medal. Zareen clinched gold in 52kg senior World Championship in 2022.
Zareen later transitioned to 50 Kg category in 2023 and is now a strong contender for Paris 2024 Olympics.Abhinav Bindra, India’s first individual gold medallist at the Olympic Games has been selected as the torch bearer for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games scheduled to be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
In 2008, Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal for India in men’s 10th air rifle in the Beijing Olympic Games. He shall be the part of the Olympic torch relay that is scheduled from April 16 to July 26.
