Shivpuri: A home guard soldier, Surendra Chauhan, of Mayapur Police Station in the district, videotaped a young man tied with a rope being assaulted by him. It mainly reached popularity on social networks, where the video travelled. Villagers were assaulted and threatened, and the home guard used abusive language about Pritam Lodhi, the MLA of Pichhore. Immediately after the video was posted, MLA Lodhi singled out a certain group and claimed that they were against him. He further threatened to quit in case similar incidents occurred.

MLA Pritam Lodhi Responds

Sitting Pichhore MLA Pritam Lodhi came out with a video message saying he is pained and added that a certain group has been repeatedly sparing him and his supporters. He said, “A particular faction cannot accept their loss and continues to attack me and my supporters constantly, which is affecting my mental health badly. If these attacks persist, I will not be able to continue serving as an MLA. These incidents hurt me a lot.”

Lodhi further said that such things have been going on, and the number of instances of attack on him has also increased since he became an MLA. He stressed the effect on his psyche and his audience; he promised to devise drastic actions if the trolling continues.

Incidents After the Viral Video

The event started with a financial disagreement between the residents of Mayapur, Amit Yadav and Ravindra Lodhi. A day earlier, there had been conflict, and due to this, Amit Yadav and some of his men had led Ravindra Lodhi from Mayapur to his village – Salora Dakhli. They tied him to an electric pole, confined him, and then they beat him. They also called Dial 100, alleging that he robbed them. When the Dial 100 team reached out to the house, Surendra Chauhan, the home guard on duty, had undeniably thrashed Ravindra Lodhi, who was tied up discriminative.
