Operations on the Konkan Railway route continued to be disrupted for a second day due to water logging on the tracks caused by a leaky tunnel roof between the Pernem station in Goa and Madure in Maharashtra. Among the canceled trains were the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express.
According to railway officials, the water leak started on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. On Tuesday night, the track was momentarily cleared; however, the leak reappeared at approximately three in the morning on Wednesday, prompting yet another shutdown. The Mandovi Express, the Mumbai Mangaluru Express, and the Mumbai-Goa Janshatabdi Express were among the other trains that were canceled.
At Madgaon Station, the Konkan Railway has established a help desk. Passengers seeking assistance with cancelled and rerouted trains are encouraged to call 0832 2706480. Trains on the Konkan Railway route were halted at several sites on Tuesday due to water logging in the Pernem tunnel in Goa.
