Voting for 13 assembly constituencies began on Wednesday morning. The first electoral exercise after the Lok Sabha elections 2024, this by-election shall decide the fate of several veterans and newcomers including the wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The constituencies involved include Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh, Rupauli in Bihar, Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Badrinath and Manglaur in Uttrakhand, Jalandhar in Punjab, Maniktala, Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagda in West Bengal.
This election has witnessed special efforts from the Election Commission of India. It has established unique polling stations in Gir Forest to ensure that the monks residing in the wilderness can vote without traveling long.
Ahead of the bypolls, a big revelation was made by the TMC leader Kunal Ghosh who claimed that BJP candidate Kalyan Choubey tried to bribe him. TMC leader claimed that Mr. Choubey had offered to accommodate him at the State or national level if he is willing to support.
