Indore: Many areas in Madhya Pradesh are currently flooded due to rainfall which has led to a rise in dengue in all the provinces in the region. Several areas are admitting new dengue cases on a day basis. In Indore, which is regarded as the economic capital of the state, the number of diseases has crossed 100. On the other hand, 28 dengue-positive cases have been reported in Gwalior in 35 days. Since there are relatively few cases of dengue, the disease is now on the rise, and this is provoking a lot of panic in Madhya Pradesh.
Normally, it is reported between August and October is the time when rain has ceased, and water that has stagnated becomes a breeding place for these mosquitoes. However, this year, the greatly expected rain has not been constant, rather has been heavier in some areas of the state than in others. In some regions, such as residential neighborhoods, intense rainfall results in flooding and water stagnation, while in other regions, water stands because of poor drainage systems. It is seen that water accumulated from overflowing drains has emerged into streets, which is a favorable environment for the dengue mosquito breed. Preferences of dengue larvae are moderate temperature conditions, short changing from cool to warm weather.
Besides, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Gwalior cities are affected by dengue, and cases are reported to be on the rise. Tertiary hospitals in these cities are almost overfilled with patient inflows. In Gwalior, the dengue-suspected patients have had their samples examined at the Microbiology Department of the Medical College and the Pathology Department of Murar Hospital, out of which two were reported to be suffering from Dengue. In fact, Gwalior recorded about 28 dengue cases, out of which 28 came up in only the last 35 days from June.
Indore is hit by an even worse situation, as the total number of infected people has risen to 105. For the past day, seven individuals have contracted the disease, out of these four are men, and the remaining three are women. The acuity of the cases has risen rapidly, resulting in more concerns being raised among the health departments and the populace.
To control the spread of dengue fever the health authorities of the state as well as the state government are fully engaged.
