Jaipur: Fragile signaling of political positions Rajasthan Cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena, belonging to BJP, has reportedly resigned as reported by a news agency. His resignation comes in the wake of the BJP’s recent poor performance in the constituencies he hastily managed during the Lok Sabha elections.

“A party member Kirodi Meena resigns as a minister He had tendered his resignation to the chief minister ten days earlier,” said the aide.

Taking to social media platform X, Meena quoted a verse from the Ramcharitmanas: Raghukul Reeti Sada Chali Aai, Pran Jaai Par Bachan Na Jaai.

Meena, who shared responsibilities of general and agriculture, rural development, disaster management and relief portfolios, had committed jumping into the BJP sinks if the party lost any of the seven seats he personally fought for in eastern Rajasthan during the elections. They comprised Dausa, Bharatpur, Dhoipur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk Sawai Madhopur, and Kota Bundi. But the BJP could make the wins only in the Kota and Alwar regional constituencies.

About this, Kirodi Lal Meena, a sitting BJP MP, came into the public domain on June 3, a day before the vote count, to say that Modi had told him that eastern Rajasthan was his charges and that he had been given seven specific seats to concentrate on. “Before the PM came to Dausa, I had said and declared that its kursi will not be won back without my losing my minister’s post I went personally campaigning the 7s If the party lost even one of these 7s, I will quit my ministerial job. ”

During the 2019 LS elections, BJP set high scores in Rajasthan, crossing 24 marks out of 25 seats. Even in the 2024 voting, their total count dropped to 14 seats and the Congress which was was once a zero finally struck at eight seats. Also, Congress associates CPI(M) and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party got one seat each.
