Mumbai: On Thursday, the 27th anniversary of the cult film “Border,” directed by J. P. Dutta, was celebrated. Actor Sunny Deol surprised fans by revealing a “Border 2” sequel. Sunny posted an announcement video on Instagram.
He says in the video, “27 saal pehle ek fauji ne vada kiya tha ki vo vapas aayega. Ussi vaade ko poora karne, hindustan ki mitti ko apna salaam kehne, aa raha hai.
Sharing the video, he wrote,”Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2 . Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, & Nidhi Dutta, it will be directed by Anurag Singh.”
After his announcement of this wonderful news, followers and industry members left comments.
A user commented, “Wow eagerly waiting, sir.” Another user commented, “Wow, It’s Great Announcement.”Esha Deol, Sunny’s sister, reacted with an evil eye emoji.
One more comment said, “Woooohoooooo cannot wait.” Sunny teased his fans on Wednesday by posting a video of himself with the remark, “Exciting Announcement tomorrow, can you guess?!”
Nidhi Dutta wrote the script for Border 2, which was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. Anurag Singh will be directing it. The plot is supposedly set in the same location—the Battle of Longewala—and filming is scheduled to begin in October of this year.
“Border,” a 1997 film, is set in the aftermath of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The main actors in the patriotic film were Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna.
The film won over millions of hearts with its magnificent musical composition, in addition to its captivating story and outstanding performances by the performers. The song “Sandese Aate Hai” by Sonu Nigam and Roopkumar Rathod was a big hit.
Meanwhile, Sunny is preparing to release Lahore 1947, following the enormous success of Gadar 2. The film, which was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, stars Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Karan Deol among its ensemble cast. The highly awaited film, which Aamir Khan is producing, will be released on Republic Day of next year.
