Bhopal: As in the case of the MP Nursing College Scam, several revelations occasionally come out to the public, and a major one has just emerged. This kind of unbelievable situation was seen when Mark sheets were sent to the nursing colleges in the state through the Nursing Council itself, to which 13 colleges in the state are affiliated, and from where none of the colleges was available to collect these mark sheets. However, regarding the selection of these colleges, it is important to note that many are listed as suitable institutions.
The first-year mark sheets of GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) were posted to the candidates by the Nursing Council through speed post. However, as the post parcels delivered reached the desks of the thirteen colleges, no accountable administrative authorities were there to retrieve them personally. Therefore, the mark sheets were reposted to the Nursing Registration Council in Bhopal. Many of these colleges have been instructed by the Nursing Council to come and take mark sheets at Bhopal urgently.
The reasons behind the non-collection of the mark sheets have prompted several questions. It, therefore, raises the question of whether some of these nursing colleges are perhaps a mere figment of the universities’ imaginations. This suspicion can be explained by the fact that the Commission failed to trace anyone at the addresses provided to the Nursing Council. Therefore, the mark sheets were sent back to Bhopal.
This case is in the context of a larger alleged scam in nursing examinations in Madhya Pradesh; FIRs have been registered against 23 people. Of these, 13 persons have been arrested, and senior CBI officials are Among them. Two arrested employees belong to the CBI, and one has already been dismissed.
As a result of this scam, the believability of nursing education in the state has been badly tainted. This brings the underlying level of fraud and mismanagement into light due to the failure of the Nursing Council to get legitimate representatives at these colleges. This extends to the returned mark sheets representing all the flaws and shortcomings within these institutions.
