However, as per ECI website, Anand Bhadauriya of Samajwadi Party on Dhaurahra seat leading by 908 votes with 3385 votes. Sitting MP BJP Rekha Verma trailing in intial trends as per ECI website.
Kheri constituency gained attention due to its association with the Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident on October 3, 2021, where eight individuals, including four farmers, lost their lives. The BJP has chosen to field Ajay Mishra Teni, who is facing allegations in connection with the incident, for a third term. Meanwhile, the SP has nominated Utkarsh Verma after their three-term MP Ravi Prakash Verma joined the Congress. The BSP has fielded Anshya Kalra, a Sikh candidate, aiming to capitalize on the unrest among the farming community.
In Dhaurhara, the BJP has nominated two-term MP and party national vice president Rekha Verma, while the SP has chosen Anand Bhadouria, a former Lucknow University students’ union leader and upper-caste Rajput. The BSP has put forward Shyam Kishore Awasthi, a Brahmin candidate, for the constituency.
