New Delhi: On Monday, AAP MP Swati Maliwal cried in Delhi’s Tis Hazari court during the bail hearing of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested for allegedly attacking Swati on Wednesday.

Forcing his way into Kejriwal’s residence without an appointment was unlawful, and hence, Maliwal trespassed, said senior advocate N Hariharan while appearing for Kumar. He said this when it was obvious that kumar was not at the house of the CM when the incident occurred. “Could anyone get in like this? This is the home of the Chief Minister! She didn’t have an appointment for the meeting, she didn’t send any message that she has arrived even,” said Hariharan, quoting Kumar and describing the scene when she was stopped by security for her intrusion but took a seat in the waiting room and asked the security to convey to Kumar that she is there, waiting.

Hariharan also sought to support his defence by stating no grievous injuries were inflicted on Maliwal. “Please look at the place where the supposed incident occurred and where many people were around; how can such an incident occur in that place (the CM’s compound)? There is no injury on the vital part; therefore, where is the question of CMU?” He argued that the injuries could be ‘stage-managed.’ He also disregarded Maliwal’s allegations and interpreted that she had “failed to make out a case of intention to disrobe her. ”

This is when Maliwal had a cathartic moment in court where she had to cry. Hariharan then proceeded to say that the charges levelled by Maliwal were pre-planned and tailor-made to suit her story and demanded his bail “He wanted the court to discharge him and was merely seeking bail.”
